Our Vision
Stimulate
We refuse to take ourselves too seriously. We understand we
are but one of thousands of Christian organizations committed
to the task. Our responsibility is to team with
the church. We are called to stimulate evangelism with our resources.
We are not primarily an "evangelizing" organization,
though a portion of our efforts is in active evangelism activity.
Basically, however, we stimulate the task through offering our
resources of scholarship, leadership training, and strategic
partnership.
Global
Our field is the world. We are aware that Christ loves the whole
world and gave himself for it. We will not limit efforts to
one nation or people group. We will pray and work to bring Christ
to the city, the suburbs, and to the rural regions of our world.
We are aware that the world lives not only across the sea, but
across the street. We believe one of the most difficult issues
facing the twenty-first century church is how to engage the
vast cultures of the world with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
Evangelism
The
mission of the church is broader than evangelism, but we believe
it can never be less. While the mission of the church includes
issues of evangelism, compassion, development, and justice,
the Billy Graham Center is called to a sharp uncompromising
focus on the evangelistic dimension. At least 50 percent of
our direct efforts will deal with the evangelism mandate. Secondarily,
we will support broader missional directives.
..........
Our Strategic
goals
We can't do everything. Good leadership requires knowing what
you are called to do and what you are not to do. We believe
God has given us four strategic goals, and we are committed
to focusing our energies in these areas to the exclusion of
many other "good" things:
TRAIN leaders.
TEAM with the church.
THINK the mission.
TELL the story.
